Located near Demre District of Antalya, Kekova Island, which is a world-renowned destination, witnesses history together with ‘Ancient City of Dolichiste’ located at the westernmost point and ‘Sunken City’ to the north. Hamidiye Village is located right next to Kaleköy. The shore, which is also called as Hamidiye Bay, has also a historical feature. Hamidiye Battle Cruiser, which set sail from Çanakkale on January 13, 1913 during the Balkan War and earned its captain-commander Hüseyin Rauf Orbay the titles of “The first captain-commander who executed a raid campaign in the history” and “Hero of Hamidiye” by sailing 11.500 miles for 7 months and 24 days without any repair; anchored here  on the way to Aegean Sea from Beirut on the dates of January 25-26, 1913 for two days in order to rest, clean its boilers and trick the enemy. The height of the island created a natural and hidden shelter by preventing the Hamidiye Cruiser’s masts from being seen.

Kaleköy, which is not accessible by road motor vehicles, can only be reached by sea vehicles. It would not be wrong to call it the capital of peace with its small pathways, houses transformed into boutique hotels, beachside restaurants, castle, homemade ice cream and sea where you can enjoy most of your day.
